When you’re busy and overwhelmed by stress it’s easy to blame yourself when things go wrong. However, it is not the case that you have to endure all this pressure yourself. On the contrary, in these cases it is very important to take it easy and take some time for yourself.
In order to find out what works best, we have asked members of the Young Entrepreneur Council group for a number of tips to take better care of yourself. This is what they recommend:
1. Think of a morning routine for yourself

Having a moment every morning for self-reflection, meditation and movement ensure a quiet start to the day. By doing this, you take a head start on the stress that is coming and you are ready to start the day well.
2. Reward yourself
Reward yourself from time to time, especially if you have achieved a positive result during a difficult project. It may be at the expense of a small part of your budget, but it provides fresh courage and new spirit.
3. Talk to a therapist
In today’s society, everything has to be faster and better. Sometimes resign yourself to getting nothing done. When you have a day like this, take the time to take extra good care of yourself. A therapist can be recommended when you are in a phase of inferiority.
4. Take days off
Days off make a big difference. Sometimes it can be difficult to completely cut yourself off from your work. It certainly pays to take time for yourself sometimes. Not only do you feel better, you also go to work with fresh courage and increased productivity.
5. Automate where possible
There are many tools available that make your personal and professional life easier. There are even robots that clean your floor for you. So look for ways to automate work so you have more time for things that really matter.

6. Get enough sleep
Eight hours of sleep a night is important. You can use an app that wakes you up at the most convenient time, not when you are in a deep sleep.
7. Look back at the three best things that happened that day
Writing down things you’ve done well today gives you more appreciation for yourself. Use this to find out what things you will do differently tomorrow to make your day even more successful.
8. Positive language
Talk positively to yourself and others. This helps you to be more positive in life.
9. Make time for family and friends
Friends and family provide personal moments of relaxation. Show that you’re there for them, then they’re there for you. Especially in stressful times this is very important.
10. Do something creative

Creativity is an easy and good outlet when you’re busy. Whether painting, writing or designing, creativity provides a moment of relaxation. It also provides new ideas about other things in life.
11. Do the simple tasks first
Starting tasks is often the most difficult. However, if you finish the simple tasks first, you end up in a flow. This makes it easier to complete your other tasks.
12. Take it easy and set realistic goals
You can’t always operate in top gear. Therefore, sometimes you have to slow down and set realistic targets. Otherwise you will not only get tired, but it will also become more difficult to achieve your goals.
