Music is an ever-changing thing, and we’ve all got different preferences. Luckily for us, there are loads of new and talented artists debuting every year. No matter what types of music you’re into, you’ll never be without plenty of choices, or artists to explore. here are just a few newer musicians that you should definitely give a listen.

Ryland James

This young artist did not come to play around. He’s pretty new to the music scene but has already toured with Alessia Cara, who is a relatively big name. He’s also received praising recognition from Shawn Mendes, who is a better-known artist with a similar style. It’s not uncommon for newer artists to become “one-hit wonders”, but this Canadian youngster is playing with the big dogs. His two 2019 singles, “In My Head” and “Say Goodbye” have been quickly building him a reputation and some popularity.

Kenny Mason

Another new artist whose talent has quickly begun to build him a following all over; 25-year-old Kenny Mason is already blowing up on the rap internet since his 2019 debut. His current top tracks, “Nike II” and “Hit” really display his talent for forthright and rhythmically volatile songs. He’s known for his unique flow, and it looks like he could be in line to blow up soon.

Odd Morris

This Dublin group is becoming a topic of interest, although they’ve only released a few songs so far. Their style leans toward alternative or indie, similar to groups like their peers, Fontaines DC. They were inspired by other grunge or alt bands, and their single “Lilac Leaves” can give the listener just a taste of their style and way with words.

Yebba

Some recent sources have credited Yebba for being the voice behind Ed Sheeran’s newest song, but what else is she capable of? Despite not having been around very long, she’s been putting in work. The Arkansas artist hasn’t only had a hand in producing two of the most popular songs of the year, but has shown that she is more than capable of thriving solo. “Where Do You Go” is the interesting and captivating track rapidly bringing her name deserved recognition. Her stage name, Yebba is also her given name, Abbey written backwards.

Connie Han

This young artist has known since she was even younger that the music industry was the path for her. Connie Han opted out of a full UCLA scholarship to pursue this dream of hers, and that doesn’t look like a mistake. She has been gaining knowledge of her name ever since her 2018 trio track “Crime Zone”. The playful jazz hit isn’t just for jezz buffs; it’s a fast-paced and fun listen for individuals of any musical preference.

Dayglow

Sloan Struble is a 20-year-old former farm boy, whose talents extend beyond what his Texas peers might have expected. Dayglow is self taught in bedroom pop, with some help from the internet when starting out, of course. The entrety of his 10-track album, Fuzzybrain was produced from his bedroom in Aledo! Although he recently started at UT for his bachelor’s degree, school has been temporarily put on hold for Dayglow, following the recent success of his album. It features up-beat and playful tracks like “Listerine”, which have a dreamy and fun vibe.

No matter what your 2020 music needs turn out to be, you’re set with the wealth of new artists coming into the limelight this year. Just keep an eye out, and watch these guys blow up.
